Andi (Roberts), 16, and Bruce (Austin), her younger brother, are placed in a foster home with a stringent “no pets” rule. Andi must use her quick wit to assist in finding a new home for their dog Friday. The youngsters find an abandoned hotel and start converting it into the ideal residence for Friday and every stray in the city. The cops are equally suspicious of them and want to know who allowed the dogs inside.

She and Bruce come across an abandoned motel where some dogs have already taken up residence.

Ultimately, the siblings’ efforts to create a family that accepts everyone succeeds, with only a few parental reservations. These consist of quick bursts of vulgar humor, a few swear words and sporadic dangerous situations.
The family film HOTEL FOR DOGS is wonderful, silly, and humorous. Additionally, it finishes on a happy note that supports families. But occasionally, to save stray canines, the young characters disobey rules, scam others, steal from them, and break the law. They pay the price for their misdeeds, but there is no genuine repentance. Despite this, there is no vulgar language throughout the film, though there is a little amount of animal-related scatological humor.
Overall, HOTEL FOR DOGS is a pleasant family film, but younger children should exercise caution due to a few brief unsettling moments.
